Configuration |
Information and additional tools |
| VIC UNEXP.(32K R/ONLY) | Starts the Vic-20 unexpanded with 32K RAM (Read Only). Since the RAM is Read Only, you cannot edit the memory using a monitor or any other tool but this prevents potential BLK5 ROM protections if you perform a soft reset (SYS64802). |
| VIC +3K (32K R/ONLY) | Starts the Vic-20 +3K RAM with 32K RAM (Read Only). Since the RAM is Read Only, you cannot edit the memory using a monitor or any other tool but this prevents potential BLK5 ROM protections if you perform a soft reset (SYS64802). |
| VIC +8K | Starts the Vic-20 +8K RAM. (the Vic-20 actually will have 32K RAM, but BASIC will recognize only 8K of this) Since the RAM is Read/Write, you may edit the memory using a monitor or any other tool but this setting does not prevent potential BLK5 ROM protections if you perform a soft reset (SYS64802). This configuration is convenient for using a previously loaded (or launched from Menu) utility for BLK2 or BLK3 without having BASIC overwrite it. |
| VIC +16K | Starts the Vic-20 +16K RAM. (The Vic-20 will actually have 32K RAM, but BASIC will only recognize 16K of it) Since the RAM is Read/Write, you may edit the memory using a monitor or any other tool but this setting doesn't prevent potential BLK5 ROM protections if you perform a soft reset (SYS64802). This configuration is convenient for using a previously loaded (or launched from Menu) utility for BLK3 without Basic overwriting |
| VIC +32K | Starts the Vic-20 +32K RAM. Since the RAM is Read/Write, you may edit the memory using a monitor or any other tool but this setting doesn't prevent potential BLK5 ROM protections if you perform a soft reset (SYS64802). |
| VIC +32K +3K | Starts the Vic-20 +32K +3K RAM (Note: BASIC can only recognize 32K RAM maximum) Since the RAM is Read/Write, you may edit the memory using a monitor or any other tool but this setting doesn't prevent potential BLK5 ROM protections if you perform a soft reset (SYS64802). |
